Welcome to See. Steph. Tri. I’m Steph, a native Californian and Producer of all forms of media in Los Angeles. I like cats, good coffee, and beer. I love gadgets, am an impulse internet shopper, and they say I’m…vertically challenged.

“If you want to change your body, exercise. If you want to change your life, become a runner.” –no idea who said this, but ripped it off of one of those inspirational running quote sites.

During a harsh NY winter in 2000, I made a change. After a mostly sedentary life, I decided I was going to run a marathon.  I was not a runner–never was one. I suffered from multiple injuries like plantar fasciitis, shin splints, and a stress fracture along the way, but somehow made it across the finish line. My life has never been the same since.

I took up cycling in 2005, when I started participating in the AIDS/Lifecycle ride, a 7-day 545 mile charity ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. In 2008, a friend asked me if I wanted to join a triathlon camp with him to train for the Hermosa Beach Triathlon.  I ran that race with a smile ear to ear from start to finish. I loved it and was instantly hooked.

It’s been over a decade since I got off the couch and started moving, and lots has happened along the way. In addition to triathlons, I now train CrossFit with my coach too. She’s one badass athlete. She trained me for the biggest physical challenge of my life, the Ironman Arizona, which I raced in November, 2014. That’s 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike, and a 26.2 mile run.

I decided to start this blog to record my training, nutrition, and life as I go through this journey–Mainly to create an outlet for myself so I don’t drive everyone insane as the multi-sport lifestyle consumes me. I promise to report on new gadgets, equipment, and clothing I come across as well, as I’m a sucker for shiny new things. So check it out and hope to hear from you.
